As a 2024 large-scale stage play and work creation funding project of the National Arts Fund, a major literary and artistic creation commission project in Shanghai, and a project funded by the Art Development Fund of the Shanghai Grand Theatre Art Center, the original national opera "March of the Volunteers" has created a group portrait of left-wing literary and artistic workers represented by progressive young people such as Tian Han, Nie Er, Xia Yan, Situ Huimin, Xu Xingzhi, Wang Renmei, etc., eulogizing the "Fengyun Era" and its emerging "Fengyun Figures", and interpreting "Fengyun Children" and the "Fengyun Song" it bred.

The red IP "cross-border resonance" stimulates the feelings of the family and the country

As an important red resource in Shanghai, the memorial hall of the "March of the Volunteers" is the birthplace of the national anthem, with a century-old protected building and exquisite exhibitions in the museum, attracting many tourists at home and abroad all year round. Before the text of the opera "March of the Volunteers" was created, the main writers and creators went to the Baidai Xiaolou many times to collect on-the-spot style, and "moved" the desk of the national anthem composer Nie Er in the Baidai Xiaolou to the stage, and the real scene was reproduced. The cross-border cooperation between red cultural venues and original national operas has aroused "resonance", continuously expanding new models and new scenes of red cultural dissemination and inheritance, making static collections vivid, making cultural heritage more innovative, cultural exchanges more communicative, and cultural empowerment and development more driving force, so that young audiences can more intuitively feel that turbulent history and stimulate the feelings of family and country.

Up to now, the opera "March of the Volunteers" has been performed 39 times, from professional theaters in Shanghai to colleges and universities, and then to all parts of the country. Baidai Xiaolou also took this opportunity to bring the "Story of Me and the National Anthem" sharing activity into the theater, inviting citizens and audiences to leave messages, stimulating people's patriotic enthusiasm, enhancing national cultural self-confidence, and then generating the willingness to visit the birthplace of the national anthem.
