On June 25, the 2024 summer social practice activities of Yuzhang Normal University and the departure ceremony of volunteers of the Western Plan were held. In his speech, Zhao Hengbo pointed out that the summer practice is a good opportunity for young college students to go into the society and the grassroots. He hoped that the students would actively participate in it, first, they should strengthen their ideals and beliefs and be fully prepared to take root at the grassroots level; Second, we must practice excellent skills and devote ourselves to fiery practice to improve ourselves; Third, it is necessary to highlight the responsibility of young people and temper their character in practice. Zhao Hengbo emphasized that all teachers and students should pay attention to safety issues, enhance their sense of social responsibility, and use practical actions to send out the strongest voice of the times that "youth stands up for Chinese-style modernization".
At the departure ceremony, Zhao Hengbo presented the flag to the "Three to the Countryside" social practice team, Hu Xiaoping presented the flag to the volunteers of the Western Plan, Fan Wenqin presented the flag to the college students' summer ideological and political practice activity team, the "Strong Country with Me, Youth with Promise" summer social practice activity and the 2024 "10,000 college students into 1,000 stations" civilization practice volunteer service action team. This year, the school recruited and selected 30 volunteers for the Western Plan, and will go to Xinjiang, Tibet, Guizhou, Sichuan and other places to carry out one-year volunteer service.

It is reported that the summer social practice adopts a combination of student team formation and individual practice, and a total of 60 teams have been formed, covering theoretical preaching, rural revitalization, national conditions observation, innovation and entrepreneurship, healthy China, national unity, etc., aiming to guide and help young students to take good "walking ideological and political courses" and "front-line professional courses", receive education, grow talents and make contributions in the social classroom, and contribute youth strength to the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
