In order to celebrate the 27 th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and create a strong social atmosphere of national security and good family, the Hong Kong Garrison organized the "1 July" barracks opening activities for two consecutive days starting from 29 June, and successively opened the Stonecutters Island, Shek Kong, and San Wai barracks.
At 10 a.m. on the morning of 29 July, the Hong Kong Garrison organized a grand national flag-raising ceremony at the Shek Kong Barracks. During the opening of the barracks, some of the weapons and equipment of the garrison attracted many Hong Kong citizens to stop and watch, and many children, led by their parents, boarded the navy ships, observed armored vehicles, experienced simulated shooting, and enthusiastically took photos with the officers and men of the Hong Kong Garrison.
In the Shigang barracks, the citizens watched a wonderful helicopter flight show, and the pilots piloted the fighter planes sometimes diving, sometimes jumping, and their superb skills won bursts of applause from the citizens. At the scene of the joint hunter combat show by the ground and air, the officers and men of the garrison relied on helicopters to carry out the rope landing and carried out the training of willpower and the display of hostage rescue operations in the form of coherent drills, which fully demonstrated the excellent ability of the officers and men of the garrison to win the war and their high fighting spirit.
The Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Center is a popular venue for Hong Kong citizens to check in and visit, and many citizens have said that the theme exhibition of "Dreaming of the East - Chinese Dream, Dream of Strengthening the Army, and Guardians of Hong Kong" is rich in content and diverse in form, and through the visit, they have experienced the long history and traditional culture of the Chinese nation, and have learned about the extraordinary course of the construction and development of our party, the country and the army, and they have felt very shocked and deeply educated.
At the Stonecutters Island Auditorium, the citizens enjoyed the theme theatrical performance "My Motherland and Me" carefully created and rehearsed by the officers and soldiers of the garrison. The performance is divided into three parts: "Prosperous China", "Beautiful Hong Kong" and "Guardian of Hong Kong", which comprehensively displays the historic achievements made in the construction and development of the country, especially since the beginning of the new era, fully demonstrates the new atmosphere of Hong Kong from chaos to order to a new stage of order and prosperity, vividly reflects the fiery practice of the garrison troops in faithfully fulfilling their mission, and artistically presents the touching scenes of the officers and soldiers of the garrison and the people of Hong Kong joining hands.
This year is the 33rd time that the Hong Kong Garrison has held an open barracks event, and over the past 27 years, more than 800,000 Hong Kong citizens have visited the barracks. By constantly enriching and optimizing the content of the barracks opening activities, the garrison will enable more citizens, especially the vast number of young people, to have the opportunity to enter the barracks, deepen their understanding of the country and the army, and gather the positive energy of loving the motherland, Hong Kong, and the garrison.
