ON JUNE 26, THE WORLD'S FIRST CARBON FIBER METRO TRAIN FOR COMMERCIAL OPERATION, THE "CETROVO 1.0 CARBON STAR EXPRESS TRAIN", WAS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED IN QINGDAO, SHANDONG PROVINCE.
Compared with traditional subway vehicles, the train is 11% lighter and more energy-saving, leading the subway train to achieve a new green upgrade.
The body is lighter and more energy-efficient
It is expected to be put into operation within the year
Traditional subway vehicles mainly use metal materials such as steel and aluminum alloy, which are subject to material characteristics and face the bottleneck of weight reduction. Carbon fiber is known as the "king of new materials" because of its advantages of light weight, high strength, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., its strength is more than 5 times that of steel, but the weight is less than a quarter of steel, and it is an excellent material for lightweight rail vehicles.
The main bearing structure of the car's body, bogie frame and other main load-bearing structures are made of carbon fiber composite materials, which realizes a new upgrade of vehicle performance, and has the technical advantages of lighter, more energy-saving, higher strength, stronger environmental adaptability, and lower life-cycle operation and maintenance costs.
Compared with the traditional metal material subway car, the carbon fiber subway car body weight reduction of 25%, bogie frame weight reduction of 50%, vehicle weight reduction of about 11%, operating energy consumption reduction of 7%, each train can reduce carbon dioxide emissions of about 130 tons per year, equivalent to afforestation of 101 acres.
The carbon fiber metro train has a top speed of 140 km/h, which is a significant increase compared to the 90 km/h speed of the traditional metro train. At present, the carbon fiber metro train has completed the type test in the factory. According to the plan, it will be put into passenger demonstration operation on Qingdao Metro Line 1 within the year.
