The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor integrates "bridges, islands, tunnels, and underwater interconnection", and is a major national project and a world-class cross-sea cluster project. The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor is about 24 kilometers long, about 30 kilometers away from the Humen Bridge in the north and 31 kilometers away from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in the south, and adopts the technical standard of a two-way 8-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor is the core transportation hub project for the construction of a comprehensive transportation system in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. As the key "horizontal" of the "A" shaped transportation network framework around the Pearl River Estuary, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor crosses the Lingding Ocean, allowing the two major urban agglomerations of "Shenzhen-Dongguan-Huizhou" and "Zhuzhongjiang" on the east and west banks of the Pearl River Estuary to achieve cross-sea direct connection.
