Recently, some overseas media photographed a group of test mules of Ferrari electric cars, which seem to use the Maserati Levante body only camouflage, and the overall look is more like an oversized hatchback. However, there are some details that we can see in the new car, such as the same headlights and new wheels as the Ferrari Roma. Otherwise, the exhaust layout with four sides on the rear can be clearly seen to be fake, and the content of the yellow triangle label indicates that this is an electric car.
At the moment, the Ferrari brand has not revealed much about the car, but it is certain that the new car will be built at a new factory at its existing site in Maranello. In addition, Ferrari promises that its first electric car will deliver "authentic" sound.
The price of the car is said to be in excess of $500,000, although CEO Benedetto Wigner declined to confirm the report this week, and he also dismissed speculation that the new plant would increase annual production from about 14,000 to 20,000 units.
Back in late 2019, the Ferrari brand officially announced that it would launch its first electric car by 2030, however in April 2021, the company's chairman, John Elkan, said that the car would be available in 2025 and would be officially unveiled later next year.
Elsewhere, while the Ferrari brand is focusing on electric vehicles, it plans to sell V12s for as long as possible. By 2030, pure fuel vehicles will account for only 20% of annual sales. About 40% will be represented by plug-in hybrids, and the remaining 40% will be represented by battery electric vehicles.
At the same time, its first electric vehicle is expected to account for 5% of total shipments in 2026, and a second electric vehicle is already in development, although it is still in the early stages of development.
