Former French Open and Wimbledon champion Muguruza said Monday that she will take a long break and will miss the clay and grass season this year. Muguruza won the 2016 French Open and Wimbledon 2017, but has played just four matches this year, winning none. Her last match was at the Lyon Open in February, where she lost in the first round to Czech teenager Linda Noskova. "With family and friends, it's really healthy and great, so I'm going to extend this time into the summer." Therefore, I will miss the clay and grass season," Muguruzha, currently ranked 132nd, wrote on his personal social account. Muguruza was ranked first in 2017 and after a period of hiatus, her form rebounded significantly in 2021, rising to third by the end of 2021, when she won three WTA titles. But her form declined last year, and she failed to reach the quarterfinals in any event.
