In iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, the Calendar app and the Reminders app are integrated. This upgrade allows users to create and manage reminders directly from the built-in Calendar app.
A two-in-one solution
This integration solves years of frustration of switching between two apps to manage related tasks. This upgrade will undoubtedly save users a lot of time and potentially increase productivity as a result.
Keep the standalone reminders app
While users can manage events and reminders once from Apple's Calendar app, the stand-alone Reminders app remains. This gives users multiple ways to view, manage, and create new reminders, adding convenience.
Provides a comprehensive overview of the schedule
In the Calendar app in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, press and hold at a specific time to select a calendar event or reminder. When creating a reminder, users can choose from different options, including setting priorities, adding notes, and choosing the list to which the reminder belongs.
If you create a reminder with a date and time in the Reminders app, it also appears in the built-in Calendar app and appears with the calendar events, arranged according to their time and date. For example, if the reminder is set to 1 p.m. and the calendar event is set to 3 p.m. on the same day, the reminder appears above the calendar event. This ultimately provides users with a more streamlined overview of their schedule.
