In June 2024, the "China Micro Documentary Original Competition" jointly organized by iQIYI and the China Documentary Conference came to a successful conclusion. Since its launch in March this year, the competition has attracted the participation of many high-quality micro-documentary creators, and a total of more than 200 micro-documentaries have been collected.
A total of 5 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 10 third prizes, and 10 fourth prizes were selected in this competition. Among them, "How Many Possibilities Are Sign Language Interpreters?" launched by Nandu and N Video Weiyi's personal studios? won the second prize of the competition.
Comments: The film is novel in its concept, focusing on sign language interpreters, innovatively combining observation and documentary, revealing a career field full of infinite possibilities, showing the important role of sign language interpreters as a bridge of communication in a silent world, and trying to guide the whole society to pay more attention and respect to niche professions.
How many possibilities are there for a sign language interpreter? is an episode of the first career observation micro-documentary in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which focuses on ordinary practitioners in ordinary positions, and selects a number of strivers with unique personal charm in different professional positions from 360 lines. Each profession shines with its own unique light, and I hope that the audience can feel the positive professional value orientation from these "ordinary but shining" little people.
