Nine Waijiang drainage pumping stations in Honghu and Jianli were started at 1,046 cubic meters per second, and seven backbone culverts along the lake were opened in time to discharge floodwater to Honghu Lake with a flow rate of nearly 900 cubic meters per second.
Xiong Wenting, head of the construction management office of the expansion project of the semi-embankment pumping station in Jianzhou City, introduced that according to the precise scheduling of the Municipal Prevention Office, the three shifts are running 24 hours a day, and the flow rate of 150 cubic meters per second is rushing to drain the water, and since June 21, it has accumulated 598 units of operation, and the drainage is about 62 million cubic meters.
Wei Shaoxiong, director of the Waist Water Conservancy Project Management Institute of the Jingzhou Four Lakes Engineering Administration, said that at eight o'clock that night, all three units were started. Since April 16 this year, Jingzhou has opened Luoshan and Gaotankou pumping stations to implement zonal drainage in combination with the ecological dispatch of Honghu Lake, and continued to lower and control the water level of Honghu Lake. On June 17, the water level dropped to 23.93 meters, the lowest value in the same period in history, and the lake capacity was vacated by more than 400 million cubic meters ahead of schedule, creating strong conditions for facing the Meiyu flood.
Huang Zehua, deputy director of the Jingzhou Municipal Water Conservancy and Lake Bureau, said that since June 27, the second round of heavy rainfall in the four lakes basin of Jingzhou has occurred again, and the Municipal Prevention Office quickly opened the culvert gates along the lake to discharge floodwater to Honghu Lake to reduce the pressure on farmland drainage. According to statistics, since the beginning of the two rounds of heavy rainfall, the peak of the lake storage flow of 1,150 cubic meters per second, the water level of Honghu Lake rose from 23.93 meters to 25.40 meters, 0.40 meters lower than the water level, a total of 588 million cubic meters through Honghu Lake.
