Signal Hound plans to enter the vector network analyzer space with the launch of a 2-port USB device up to 40 GHz

At IMS 2024 in Washington, D.C. last week, Signal Hound, a manufacturer of convenient, versatile, and sophisticated test equipment, showcased a new vector network analyzer (VNA) that they plan to launch soon. The VNA400 is a high-performance, USB-powered, dual-port vector network analyzer (VNA) that operates from 40 MHz to 40 GHz. With a subhertz resolution of +/- 1 ppm, this VNA is ideal for RF industry professionals working on cable testing, antenna testing, return loss/VSWR measurements, filter tuning, insertion loss measurements, amplifier testing, electrical strength measurements, group delay measurements, impedance measurements, and SMT component evaluation.

Key features of the VNA400:

The frequency range is from 40 MHz to 40 GHz

Subhertz resolution

Frequency and time domain measurements

Dynamic range up to 135 dB

Control software interface: The VNA400 can be connected to a PC via a USB Type-C port and controlled via software that can be installed on Windows or Linux operating systems (x64_86 architecture). Dedicated SCPI commands are available that users can enter to perform specific actions.

The VNA400 measures 10.8 x 6.2 x 1.5 inches and comes with an NMD 2.92 mm (male) test port connector. It requires a 5 V DC power supply with a power consumption of less than 15 W.

This VNA from Signal Hound is in development. We at Everything RF will keep you up to date.

Signal Hound showcased its test and measurement products at the IMS 2024 show in Washington, D.C.

IMS 2024 (IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium) is a week of in-person conferences dedicated to microwaves and RF that will be held in Washington, D.C., June 16-21, 2024. The conference will also include the IEEE MTT-S RF Integrated Circuit Symposium (RFIC) and the Automated Radio Frequency Technical Group (ARFTG). IMS2024 is the world's largest gathering and trade show for microwave professionals. The development of RF, microwave, millimeter wave and terahertz systems is expanding in many fields and has an increasing number of applications.
