The South Korean automaker is entering the affordable electric vehicle market with Hyundai Inster. The electric car has a relatively small range (about 320 km) and is built in an unusual retro style. First of all, it will be released in the company's hometown.
Hyundai is preparing two versions of this model. The first will have a 42 kW battery with a range of 300 km. The second model has a 49 kWh battery and a range of 355 km. The base model is equipped with an electric motor with a capacity of 95 horsepower, while the long-range model will be equipped with an "engine" of 113 horsepower.
The interior of the Hyundai Inster offers both physical and touch controls. The EV will also feature a 10.3-inch dashboard and a similarly sized central touchscreen display. Hyundai offers many amenities for future passengers and drivers. For example, there is a wireless charging pad for gadgets and a heated steering wheel function.
Allegedly, the base cost of a modern Inster will be less than $26,000. First, the electric car will go on sale in South Korea and then be released in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
