A few days ago, in the ancient city of Shanhaiguan in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, under the leadership of Shen Yan, president of the Great Wall Cultural Protection People's Court of the Shanhaiguan District People's Court, court officers and police officers carried out legal popularization propaganda for tourists and merchants. Publicizing the "Regulations on the Protection of the Great Wall" and interpreting the law through cases of violations has been an important task that they have long adhered to.
On June 30, 2022, the country's first People's Court for the Protection of Changcheng Culture was established in Shanhaiguan District.
In the two years since its establishment, the court has concluded more than 320 cases and resolved more than 290 disputes through mediation, with a mediation rate of 90%. The judgment on the illegal act of defacing the Great Wall at the Nine Gates was rated by the Supreme People's Court as one of the "100 Excellent Trials" of the Sixth National Court.
