Different from daily swimming in the pool, open water has a greater load intensity, which is both challenging and full of "wild fun", and has become more and more favored by more senior swimmers in recent years, becoming a choice to challenge themselves. In Xiangcheng County, the Beiru River, which runs through the border, has a total length of 46.9 kilometers and a basin area of 241 square kilometers, which is the mother river that the people of Xiangcheng are proud of.
The competition was held in the waters near the Beiru River Wetland Park in Xiangcheng County, with a total distance of 2,000 meters, and was open to domestic and foreign open water swimmers, members of swimming (winter swimming) associations, and members of swimming (winter swimming) clubs. The age of the contestants is 45 years old, and there are two age groups of men and women 18-44 years old and 45-65 years old, and the champion of each age group will receive a bonus of 1,000 yuan.
As a backup water source for the middle route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, the water quality of the Beiru River has been maintained at the Class III level all year round. The beautiful natural scenery and excellent water quality made the competition very attractive, and the 300 places set for the event were "snapped up" by swimmers as soon as the registration for the event opened. At 7:00 on June 30, as the starting gun sounded, the contestants entered the water in turn.
