On October 31, QuestMobile, a Chinese business intelligence data service provider, released the "2023 China Mobile Internet Autumn Report". According to the report, as of September 2023, the number of active users on the whole network has reached 1.224 billion, with a stable growth rate of 2%-2.7% in the past year, and user activity from 12:00 to 18:00 increasing by 2.5% year-on-year. Among them, the proportion of post-00s and post-60s increased by 0.3% and 1.1% year-on-year respectively.

The above data also means that the scale of users on the whole network remains stable, and the digital penetration of post-00s and silver-haired people continues to develop.

From the perspective of the number of users of various Internet enterprises, the traffic of Internet companies such as Tencent, Alibaba, and Baidu has reached 1 billion, covering the vast majority of mobile Internet users.

On the whole, under the superposition of the overall economic recovery momentum and the summer effect, the mobile Internet industry in the third quarter showed three major characteristics: "consumption recovery", "cultural tourism blowout" and "entertainment boom", which also drove the continuous growth of the number of users in related industries.

According to the report, the gradual deepening of the "everything can be delivered" model of local life platforms, and the development of users' consumption habits and demand for "what you see and get it now" have contributed to a 6.8% year-on-year increase in the number of users of instant delivery riders to 7.579 million. From food delivery to the delivery of "everything", instant delivery has become a "booster" to meet the fast-paced life of users, and southern coastal areas such as Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang are the main provinces where instant delivery riders are active.

Driven by this, as of September, the number of Meituan users with "food, housing, transportation, travel, shopping and entertainment" as its main business was 771 million, with a year-on-year growth rate of more than 20%, ranking first in the Internet retail industry.

The report also said that with the blessing of the summer effect, in addition to the significant growth rate of traffic in offline scenarios such as life services, travel and movie performances, online entertainment scenarios such as reading and video have also increased. In September 2023, the net increase in the scale of monthly active users in China's mobile Internet sub-industry will include a net increase of 86.02 million in train services, 85.87 million in map navigation, and 50.17 million in online travel, respectively, and a net increase of 42.61 million in audiobook users.

In addition, after the May Day and Dragon Boat Festival holidays, the summer tourism season was ushered in, and customized and in-depth self-driving tours, outdoor hiking, and city walks became popular choices in the market, stimulating the user scale and stickiness of the tourism service APP industry to increase year-on-year, with a net increase of 90.31 million, 84.97 million, 53.45 million, and 36.7 million users respectively.
